Bring on the Beef!

Why choose Cross E Ranch beef?  In the words of my favorite Uncle, Dalon “is it enough to just say ‘because it’s the best?’”, and I’d have to say I agree. We wish “because it’s the best” was enough of an answer, but for those of you who need more convincing, let me tell you why. 

​First, we raise Black Angus, which is the most popular market cow in the United States. Black Angus is such a popular market cow because they are naturally lean, and have great natural marbling in the meat (livestock facts is where I shine). They also do well in the cold, are great mothers, and have overall good temperaments. All our cows are free-range and grass-finished.  Which means they get to live out their lives in green pasture with easy access to water. They live a stress-free lifestyle and that makes for a nice life and better meat product.

Next, we don’t use any hormones, or non-essential medications/antibiotics. We only doctor if a cow becomes sick and even then, we are careful with what we give them.  Other than that, they never have anything injected, because we believe the best meat is natural.
​​Lastly, we do our best to make sure our cows not only are happy and healthy, but as comfortable as possible. We like to think that our cows live a posh lifestyle here at Cross E Ranch. That is why we try hard to keep our fields green and continuously growing for them. It makes us so happy to see our cows out in the fields enjoying themselves and living their best lives.

​I feel it’s import to share the fact that we love and respect our cows. I will always remember my grandpa telling us “You respect that animal, dead or alive” and I think that sums up how we feel about the cows (or any other animal for that matter). I am so grateful that I am able to help raise our cows and help guarantee they have a good, happy, and healthy life. I am also very grateful that I am able to partake in the products the cows provide me with, which in our case here at the ranch is beef.

​Being able to help raise the cows makes me very grateful that I am able to have fresh high-quality beef, and gives me lots of respect for the cows themselves. I would hope that all those who purchase our beef can taste the high quality and appreciate the fact that it was raised locally. Along with enjoying the beef itself, when you purchase Cross E Ranch beef you are helping us be able to continue to do what we love: ranching. If it wasn’t for all those who support us as your local beef ranchers we would not be able to stay in business doing what we love.

Now, if you haven’t tried our beef I hope that I have done enough to convince you that “we are the best” as my uncle (and my fellow Cross E Rancher’s) would say, and to go and try some for yourself!
